There’s no place like The J. Clyde. With Birmingham’s largest covered patio, you can eat outside rain or shine! On Historic Cobb Lane, the newly renovated front room houses the “oldest bar” in Birmingham. Originally, horse pens and later a 1920′s era garage, the building has a unique history. Add in a German-style Biergarten and a Parisian street cafe and there’s a little space for everyone.

The J. Clyde offers more craft beer than any other place in Alabama and easily offers the most taps of fresh ales and lagers in Birmingham.

Like most real brewers, Good People started out with humble beginnings and no intention of ever starting a business. A labor of love in which long brew days in the garage, bad equipment, curious dogs (we still blame them for a bad batch or two) and hanging out with friends became commonplace. Once it took root, this hobby turned into a passion (along with some really solid beers).

Back Forty Beer Company

Back Forty Beer Company has been awarded a Silver Medal for their Truck Stop Honey Brown Ale at the 2010 Great American Beer Festival in Denver, CO. This is the second year that the Gadsden, AL based operation has entered the competition and the first year entering Truck Stop Honey Brown Ale. Back Forty will be opening their brewery in Gadsden, AL soon so keep an eye on their website for up to the date information.
